The definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result.

One of my all time favorite quotes can apply to almost every situation. That’s one reason I like it. Another reason is because it’s spot on! Researching the originator of the quote was difficult. It appears that no one really knows who coined it, but it is often Albert Einstein who gets the credit.

I find this quote is perfect for all kinds of topics. I often use this one at my day job. I tend to be an out of the box thinker and I find this quote does often convince others to try new things when the old ways are not producing the planned results any longer.

And it’s perfect for health and fitness scenarios no? If I continue to eat the same way, stop exercising or tell myself I don’t need it, and expect to lose weight is it not utterly senseless? See what I mean? That quote can be applied to all situations!

Why I Crave Sweets after Meals

You are so lucky if you don’t have those after meal cravings for sweets!

Me, on the other hand, not so lucky. I could have just had a full meal, and I logically know there’s no room for dessert, but alas many times I lose the craving battle. The next thing I know in goes the pie, ice cream or chocolate cake. And it’s oh so good! As I write this I can feel the satisfaction of eating an imaginary dessert, so I am fairly certain my problem with not being able to stay away from sweets is habit. Or is it?

Muscle aches, stabbing, burning and radiating back pain

Having a sore back is awful, and probably the worst kind to have. It’s hard to move even to walk to sit comfortably with back pain. When I first started yoga – oh, I could hardly move the next day and every move and step caused me pain from soreness. Yikes!

There’s no messing around with lower back pain. If you have back pain which you have experienced without a cause, I encourage you to seek medical attention to rule out any and all serious conditions.

How to Beat a Weight Loss Plateau

So you’re trucking along. You’ve finally flipped that weight loss switch and the pounds are coming off. And you think, “I’ve finally got it!”

And then…. NOTHING. No more weight loss!

The scale stops moving. The good news, you’re not gaining weight. The bad, you’re no longer losing either. What the heck?

How many of you have ever said, “I can’t lose belly fat!” Frustrating I know. I’ve just about always had some belly fat.

Belly fat is also called visceral fat. Visceral fat is not just fat that extends the waistline it also sits inside the abdominal cavity. Visceral fat surrounds your organs such as the liver, stomach and intestines, and It is visceral fat that can build up in the arteries.

Gluten is Bad for Your Health – Or is it?


My husband has an overabundance of health issues. Most of his medical issues have a medical name and diagnosis, but unknown causes. Gluten intolerance is one of them. There is only one way to confirm for sure that you have a gluten intolerance and it’s by performing an endoscopy and looking at the intestine. When he had his endoscopy several years ago, they confirmed that he does NOT have a gluten intolerance.

Well stick your test where the sun don’t shine because every time my husband eats gluten he has an allergic reaction. And I’m not talking about just a little reaction. At times, before he recognized the connection between his allergic reaction and gluten he would have the throat closing reactions.

Thank goodness he was able to recover without medical attention. He is very lucky that the symptoms subsided quickly and he was able to breathe!

So yeah, so much for medical tests.

Tick Tock Body Clock – How are you Sleeping?

Have you ever felt like this?

Do you feel tired around the same time every day say at 3pm? What time do you usually feel sleepy and ready for bed? Do you tend to wake at the same time even without an alarm? I notice this the most on my days off from work. I naturally wake close to the time I wake on work days – which sucks because who doesn’t want to sleep in on their days off?

Chances are you’ve noticed these patterns of tiredness and wakefulness. You can thank your internal body clock for not letting you sleep in longer than you wanted to on those non-work days.
